Being on the wrong track is easier than changing to the right track so that's where we tend to remain. The easiest path albeit the wrong one. The most common thought is that we are actually on the right track because we get so disillusioned with the beautiful rewarding space life should actually be!
"It's easy to stay on the path you're already on. Real change begins when you pause, reflect and choose where you want to go."
Scott Peck wrote a book called “The Road Less Traveled” and it was very inspirational to me. The courage needed to make life adaptations can be considerable and stressful. But in that statement is the secret … considered. Do we take time to consider exactly where we are and where we are going?
We must take time to reflect on where we are but from where I sit very few people do. Instead, we fill our spare time with social media, scrolling and all these attempts to just remain busy.
I often sit on the train, and I look around at everyone and no one is talking they're just looking at their screens. At so many levels this is so bad for us. We're no longer communicating and if we are it's through only sight and hearing so that's not really active communication.
Our postures totally compromised for hours on end and that spare time in which we get to dream and think about where we are is wasted. Poor posture will indeed affect you for your entire life. And early degenerative spine collapsing of muscles causes limited breathing pace right through to eyesight strain there are no winners here.
So what have we learned? Sometimes I wonder if life has got away on us. Every second filled with busyness and nothing. Heaven eventually. I think the biggest miracle is choice. We choose what we do, how we do it, why do we do it where we do it and when we do it. All those big decisions and choices are ours to make.
